While many are tuning in to watch the Time’s Square Ball drop, the real New Year’s Eve party appears to be happening at Netflix. As the Stranger Things series finale debuted on the streaming platform, fans took to social media to report technical difficulties as they attempted to watch the two-hour conclusion of the Duffer Brothers supernatural series. “NETFLIX CRASHED PLS LET ME IN I DO NOT HAVE NEW YEARS PLANS,” one person wrote on X. “My Netflix has crashed twice already three mins into the stranger things finale,” another posted. “WHAT DO U MEAN NETFLIX IS DOWN [NOW]” wrote someone else with supercut of the season. In all, Season 5 is looking at 137.1M views since Volume 1 premiered in November. While some Netflix users are experience difficulties with the app, fans can see the finale on the big screen, showing in more than 350 theaters through New Year’s Day.
