Ferrer Kyle Schwarber Pete Alonso 4 hours ago Figured it would be a short program. 🤣 4 hours ago Why cite Gregory Santos as the bust potential in Seattle’s acquisition of reliever Jose Ferrer without citing Keibert Ruiz as the bust potential in Washington’s acquisition of Harry Ford? Ford is roughly the same age Ruiz was in July 2021 when the Los Angeles Dodgers traded Ruiz and three others to the Nationals for Trea Turner and Max Scherzer. Ruiz was a similarly ranked, if not higher ranked, prospect than Ford is today. Every trade carries risks. 2 hours ago The Nats are rebuilding. Taking chances on unproven guys is a logical gambit. The Mariners are trying to win now. I thought they would try to trade Ford for a reliable everyday lineup upgrade. Instead, they’ve given him up for a reliever, which tends to be a more volatile path. I found that a bit surprising but maybe no one was willing to give them an everyday player for Ford. 2 seconds ago It sounds like most teams weren’t willing to give up much for Ford, which is surprising. We heard a lot about Seattle’s farm system, with Ford being one of their main guys. Still, I don’t think I’d let Ford go for a reliever, because they are so volatile like you said. 4 hours ago The only gift I want for Christmas is a Yankees trade for Corey Seager! I’ve been well behaved all year, so please. 3 hours ago Yeah……………………… Sorry but I don’t see that one happening. But nothing wrong with wishing. Or begging. LOL 47 mins ago @Dr it could very well happen. Seager and Joc for Rice, Volpe and your #1 pitching prospect with yall taking on full salaries. Sure seems like something Texas would offer. 2 hours ago White Sox get lucky than do absolutely nothing else. Shooting for 66 wins I guess. 2 hours ago One of Mayo and Mountcastle will likely serve as a platoon partner for Basallo at 1B/DH as he gets acclimated to MLB and the other will probably be traded for pitching. Also, Mountcastle is a free agent after 2026 and Mayo is still optionable and could be sent back to AAA to try to learn to play RF, where his cannon arm would fit very well and he will have a better shot at playing time going forward, so it’s not completely out of the question that both could remain in the organization in 2026. 2 hours ago Booooring! Where are the big trades? 2 hours ago Sadly those days are over.
