An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow is anticipated in Summit and Medina counties, and 2 to 4 inches in Portage County. Periodic snowfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour are expected through this early evening, according to NWS. The most persistent snow should affect northeastern Lorain, northern Medina, northern and western Portage County, and central Summit counties. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below a quarter mile due to falling and blowing snow. Persons should consider delaying all travel, stated the National Weather service in its alert. If travel is necessary, motorists should drive with extreme caution and should consider taking a winter storm kit, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help in case of an emergency.
