Bruno Mars announces massive Detroit stadium concert as part of new tour - The Detroit News
Bruno's back. Bruno Mars will play Ford Field May 9, the singer's camp announced Thursday. The news comes a day after his record label announced Mars' new album, "The Romantic," will be released Feb. 27. Tickets for the show go on sale at 12 p.m. Jan. 15 via Ticketmaster. Pre-sale tickets go on sale beginning Wednesday; sign-up is available through Mars' website until 7 a.m. Monday. Anderson .Paak, Mars' Silk Sonic partner, will join the show as DJ Pee .Wee, and Best New Artist Grammy nominee Leon Thomas will also perform at the concert. "The Romantic Tour" kicks off its 38-date run April 10 in Las Vegas and wraps Oct. 14 in Vancouver. "The Romantic" is the 16-time Grammy winner's first solo effort since 2016's "24K Magic." The set's first single will arrive on Friday, according to a release. The Ford Field show will be the 40-year-old chart topper's biggest local concert to date, and his first Detroit concert since his two-night stand at Little Caesars Arena in Sept. 2018, part of his massive 24K Magic World Tour. Mars' show is the third 2026 concert to be announced at Ford Field, following earlier announcements from Foo Fighters (Aug. 6) and Ed Sheeran (Aug. 29). agraham@detroitnews.com
