Atlus Looks Forward To Persona's 30th Anniversary In 2026, Acknowledges Support For Persona 4 Revival - Nintendo Life
It can’t wait to make “another announcement” Persona 3 Reload only arrived on the Switch 2 in October, but there’s plenty more to come... Speaking to the Japanese website 4Gamer.net as part of its annual end-of-year developer interview feature recently, Atlus producer and director Kazuhisa Wada (who has worked on Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload) highlighted how the JRPG series will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026. To thank fans, the team is already preparing a "wide variety of initiatives on a global scale”. There’ll also apparently be some chances to talk about “future developments” for the series. Subscribe to Nintendo Life on YouTube841k Here’s exactly what he had to say (via Gematsu): “The Persona series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. As a token of our gratitude to everyone, we’re preparing a wide variety of initiatives on a global scale, so please look forward to them…! Additionally, we believe there will be opportunities in 2026 to talk about future developments for the series. Preparations are steadily coming together, and all of us at ATLUS will be giving it our all to build excitement around Persona, so we sincerely ask for your continued support…!” Fellow producer and director Shinjiro Takata also acknowledged how his team released RAIDOU Remastered in 2025 on the Switch and Switch 2. Apparently, patch support might not be done yet. And last but not least, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload producer Atsushi Nomura mentions how Atlus has received “a lot of support” for Persona 4 Revival, and is looking forward to providing an update: “We’re very much looking forward to the day we can make another announcement, so please continue to give us your support.” So, that's what's on the menu for the Persona series next year. If you haven’t already tried out P3R on the Switch 2, there’s a demo you can download from the eShop. A patch for the game has also rolled out this week, which bumps the frame rate. You can find out more about this in our previous story. It's a Christmas miracle S.E.E.S. the day Nothing soulless about this one Push SquareWhat the fog What would you like to see from Atlus and the Persona series next year? Let us know in the comments. [source 4gamer.net] How about Persona 6? A remake from the 3rd made sense, from the first and the second would as well, but the 4th, a remake?! P4 Golden is already perfectly playable today! ATLUS found a way to charge you a 3rd time for their game...REMAKES RELOADS REVIVALS! I see you! 🤣🤣🤣 @ZombAid82 totally agree. Sadly we will probably see 2 more remakes before 6 is released. And even then it will be an incomplete version until Persona 6 silver recharged + Funky Kong is released ~ 2 years later. Absolutely hate Atlus way of doing things and yet I like their games... ATLUS and RGG milking them remakes. Granted, they are good games but give us Persona 6!! Persona 5 Retaken when This article got me thinking for a minute. If 2026 is the 30th anniversary of the series, then the series started in 1996. And Persona 5 came out in 2016. That's a 20 year gap. That means there are five new mainlines in the first two-thirds of the series' existence. And then zero new mainlines in the last third. 😮 Dang, that's crazy. Persona 6 I think They'll release Persona 5 Royal Remake before Persona 6. Atlus, give me Persona 4 Revival, Metaphor and Persona 6 on Switch 2 and my money is yours. Day one!-a very stupid person Persona 5 Royal Switch 2 patch please. @Neonix is definitely appreciate that, going through P3R right now, very enjoyable but I hear 5 is best, have it on my shelf for Switch but heard it looks abit rough on Switch 2 @ozwally a lot of people said that but I think the game is still perfectly playable. The 3d resolution could just be a bit better To echo some of the thoughts already voiced here - Persona 4 (my favourite game) does not need a remake and is still excellent today. Put those resources into P6. And how about when you release P6, make it the final edition? Or at most make the extra content DLC rather than charging over and over for "new" releases. And since I'm moaning, why not - Persona 3 now has five versions available and frankly that's too many and none of them have even been a definitive version. I played the demo for Reload and despite the sparkly new graphics walking into the school at the start and seeing the same characters again felt the same as it did in the previous four releases 😵😵💫 Congratulations to the Persona series for its 30th anniversary next year - looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us, hopefully including game releases and announcements (in the meantime can't wait to start 3 Reload myself as soon as I finish playing Tactica, getting closer and closer to doing so)! I recently finished the original 1+2 trilogy, and while a remake of that would be nice, I would of course prefer Persona 6 before that. After P4 remake, it's time for P5 I guess ? Could we get Persona 6 or is it too much to ask ? That's great, now announce Persona 4 Revival for Switch 2. Same with Persona 6, it better be there Day 1 Atlus or I swear to god lol I just hope Atlus starts prioritizing Nintendo systems, they always wait years later to port Persona to Nintendo systems. Persona 4 Remake and 6 hopefully get released on Switch 2. @ZombAid82 P4 would be the odd duck out at this point out if P3 and P5 have a modern Atlus JRPG look and P4 doesn’t. P1-P2 doesn’t exist in their rear view mirror before someone brings them up. P4 is popular enough to justify it since it was the most popular Persona game before P5. P4 did the “give them a bunch of spin-offs” before P5 jumped on that train. P4 at the end of a day was a PS2 game that came out decade+ ago. Golden added content/QoL, but visually was still a PS2 era game. I get lot of people are impatient for P6, but people need to remember the gap of P4 and P5 dropping first. Surely this is the year right? Right?? It's a little scary that Persona 6 wasn't even mentioned. Of course, the last 24 hour countdown for Persona 5 was only an image of some chairs and a ball of chain. I mean I guess, but I already have P4G and I'm souring on Atlus's buy-it-again model, which is more irritating than day one DLC. It seems like we're going back to the well too much when it seems like they can still make good new games like Metaphor. The only SMT-like game that really needs a second chance is Tokyo Mirage Sessions and I will die on that hill. Just put those games on cards
